The Detex Value Series® Electronic Delayed Egress Magnetic Push Bar Locking 
Device (V40xEM) provides a secure 15 second delay and an approximate 100dB
alarm when someone attempts to exit. 
 
This delay allows the store management time to respond to the alarm before the 
potential shoplifter can exit the store.
 
The Detex Alarmed Pushbar Model: V40xEM must be tied into the fire alarm 
sprinkler system, smoke detection, etc.) that allows a system override and 
immediate exit, during a fire emergency situation, per building code 
requirements.
